Wednesday 9:30 AM was blast off – literally, as the wind played havoc with the daring driver (or should I say the darling driver). But we took our time and stopped often. The Lord treated us to 2 (yes 2) huge beautiful rainbows in New Brunswick. I (Glenda) see them as promises. When we arrived in and settled into the “Hilton Walmart Parking Lot” (our accommodation choice since we left home) at suppertime, Doug reacquainted himself with how the generator/electrical worked – yes, the generator needs to be plugged into the electrical wiring of the RV for stuff to work.

The drive around Montreal was a breeze – Hwy 30 goes around the city (Hwy 17 to Renfrew on the other hand was a nightmare). The scenery is spectacular – Autumn has arrived in Quebec and Ontario. Algonquin park is showing off its colors! Our plans didn’t include driving to southern Ontario to see family due to the busyness to the 401 in a RV. The 417 through Ottawa was harrowing enough!

We arrived in Burk’s Falls Ont late Saturday afternoon. Great hospitality at the Snell household! Even Trouble the cat welcomes us! And Sunday we reconnected with the rest of the dear folks of Chetwynd Community Church as we worshipped with them. Great to see and be with good old friends. Saw a couple of new huge solar fields. Tomorrow we will travel to North Bay to connect with more old friends, Bill and Lorna Powell.

We thank you all for your prayer on our behalf – Let us leave you with this from Isaiah 30:21. “Your ears shall hear a word behind you saying: ‘This is the way, walk in it,
when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left.”

Today is the Day!

Jenny's Garden 2mpWe are packed and ready to head out on this 180 day – 10,000 mile journey. Its a challenge to bring what we will need for 6 months away and yet we can only fit so much in. We brought books, devotions, music, songs & instruments, games, maps, tools, coffee – oh yes and food. Beeper the cat is staying with Bonnie W in Hart Lake for what is sure to be an epic winter.

We are leaving with a sense of excitement (even Glenda!) and looking forward to seeing new sights and meeting new people. We have rounded a corner from a tumultuous year and Jenny will be a part of our journey for sure. Bonnie’s niece made the ‘Jenny’s Garden’ sign. We love it! Part of her resides in Seafoam. Ben and Ally & Mike are meeting us in California which will be great. We leave feeling very blessed and thankful.

We are glad to have so many family and friends thinking and praying for us on this trip. We plan to post to our blog weekly with some pictures of the scenic highlights. We’ll see you all in the Spring, Lord willing!
